A community fighting for jobs and survival was denigrated and depicted as violent by the majority of the media. The Battle for Orgreave discovers the untold story of the miners’ strike in 1984 with real life recounts from the people involved and those who suffered a 48 week trial over the riot in Orgreave.

The film will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker Yvette Vanson, and her husband, the lawyer Michael Mansfield QC, Chaired by Professor Stephen Coleman, ICS.
