The Hollies

24 March 2010 - 24 March 2010

Wednesday 24 March 7.30pm

The Hollies Tony Hicks, Peter Howarth, Ian Parker, Steve Laurie, Ray Stiles, Bobby Elliott

Not many 1960’s musicians are still recording, let alone touring with a new album - but then The Hollies are no average band.

The title of their new CD, “Then, Now, Always” is descriptive of a polished and everlasting legacy.
Their talents ensure that they retain their well-earned status and play to packed houses in their own right throughout the world without having to become part of a revival package tour.

With more hits than the Beatles during the 1960’s and 70’s, The Hollies enthusiasm for their art remains unflagging.

To witness originals – guitarist and vocalist Tony Hicks and ace drummer Bobby Elliott playing new material is inspiring. In fact, the band are receiving requests for songs from their previous album, “Staying Power” - proving that, once heard, their newer material is just as popular as their impressive back catalogue of classic hits.

The live performance is pure Hollies: Trademark harmonies coupled with sheer musical prowess – each song skilfully showcased by its own stunning lightshow.
The climax of The Hollies summer of 2009 was their concert with the 60 piece Kiel Symphony Orchestra in Germany. As on their British theatre tour, Hollies anthems ‘‘The Air that I Breathe” and “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” would bring the show to a crescendo and a well deserved standing ovation - winning over new generations of fans, proof that The Hollies still hack it in a major way.
