‘I think of writing as a sculptural medium. You are not building things. You are removing things, chipping away at language to reveal a living form.’
Critically acclaimed author, journalist, Shooting Star and grumpy old man Will Self visits Leeds to read from and talk about his new book Walking to Hollywood.
A potent mixture of fact, fancy, memoir and invention the book centres around Self’s passion for wandering on foot around cities. From Los Angeles to the crumbling coastline of East Yorkshire, Self presents his uniquely disturbing world vision, exploring some of our deepest fears and anxieties with his characteristic fearlessness and edgy humour.
